Hi Jennifer: Perhaps this will help. Hans Jacob Heyer came to America in 1751 to Charleston, SC and settled on a 300 acre land grant in the extreme NW corner of Colleton CO, SC, on Savannah Creek. The census of 1790 shows his son, Johann Jacob Jr., my line, in Barnwell Co, SC. According to Charleston conveyance records he bought from each of his brothers, Michael and Christopher, the 100 acres willed to them by their father from his original 300 acre grant. He also bought 123 acres from his mother. Since his estate was administered in Colleton Co, SC he might have moved to that property in Colleton Co that was his father's original grant. I hope this aids your place search. Good luck.
