A Thomas Hightower of Amelia Co., VA sold some land that he owned in Lunenburg Co., VA to Henry Brown "II" of Essex Co., VA in 1761. Henry Brown "II" moved to Lunenburg, and that land became part of Mecklenburg Co., VA a few years later. Henry Brown "II" was a son of Henry Brown "I" and Keziah Jones, a grandson of Daniel Brown "I" and Jane Copeland and a great-grandson of Francis Brown "I" (died about 1691/1692 in Essex Co., VA) and Elizabeth (apparently Elizabeth Cole). Since Daniel Brown "I" had a son who was named Abraham Brown who lived over in Caroline Co., VA (married to Mary Tribble), perhaps the Hightower family in Caroline Co., VA was part of the same overall Hightower family that was in Amelia (where some Browns also lived....including later/younger Daniel and Abraham Browns) and Lunenburg/Mecklenburg Co., VA. That Hightower family was out of Richmond Co., VA in the 1600s.
