Re:your message 6.6.00 - sorry for the delay!

I have'nt been researching for a while. I checked the Ed Ball pages for more details and found a reference to my grandfather's drowning (David Lorenzo Hiler). He went to cuba and apparently met my grandmother Maude Brown (a Jamaician). He actually died in a fishing boat accident with his eldest son in Jamaica 1935 a few months before his youngest son, David Schoonover Hyler (my father) was born. There were six children:- Javin (who died with his father - his body was never found) Heron, Alan, Philip, Lucinda and David Schoonover. Heron, Alan and Philip now reside in the US, Lucinda lives in Montego Bay. In 1957 my father came to England and met my mother. In 1959 the eloped to Getna Green, Scotland. They had 4 children: David Lorenzo, Kevin Anthony, Sonya Louise (that's me) and Karen Anne. I am married to Barry and we have a little boy called Jake Bentley Schoonover Schulz.

Some years ago during my research I was given the name Yantis - apparently one of my grandfather's sisters married a Yantis. I traced a person a Mr Samuel Yantis of North Darkota who confirmed that his great aunt's brother had ran off with a Jamaican!

It was very nice to read your memo - My father will be extremely happy to know that the family is far bigger than we ever imagined.
