John Bunyan Hillhouse was my husband's Greatgrandfather. We have in our possession a clock that he bought in Jackson, Mississippi about 1865. Family legend has it that he bought the clock when he left the Confederacy and brought it home with him. It was given to my husband's grandfather, Charles Hillhouse. At his death my husband's father, Joseph Bunyan Hillhouse inherited it from his father, Charles and then it was passed on to my husband, Marvin Hillhouse. It will then be passed along to our son, Stephen Hillhouse.
The clock sits on our mantle and still runs. We think there may be pictures of John Bunyan out there and if there are we would like to be able to obtain a copy of the picture. We would be glad to cover any expense involved for copying, postage and whatever. We would love to have this to place beside the clock on the mantle with the history.
