Can you supply names/dates listing of the children of John & Bethiah (SHARP) HILLHOUSE... and James & Polly (DICKEY) HILLHOUSE?
I am descended from Andrew "Jackson" HILLIS [HILLHOUSE] (b- 1815/17, d- 1878), who resided in the Lauderdale County,AL and Giles/Lawrence Counties,TN. The census cited him as born in TN, but one of his daughters lived to be 103, and passed down that her father was born in KY. We are trying to find out who his parents were... and it has been passed down that the surname "used to be different". In 2 instances, two of his children have been recorded as "HILLHOUSE", and I have seen some of the HILLHOUSE' in this forum linked to Giles County,TN.
Any help/info would be appreciated...

Jackson's children's names were:
John Mac HILLIS (may have son named Mack HILLHOUSE)
Robert N. HILLIS
Permelia Elizabeth HILLIS (whose sister Lina, single, was cited as "HILHOUSE" while living in her household in 1880, along with "nephew" Mack HILHOUSE.)
William Andrew HILLIS
Susan Caroline HILLIS
Isaac Houston HILLIS
Benjamin F. HILLIS
Malissa HILLIS
James Francis Lafayette Burton HILLIS
Julia Louisa Mary "Ellen" HILLIS/HILLHOUSE
George David Jackson HILLIS
