John Hillhouse m Mary Ann Campbell McKindlay 1795
A number of relatives and descendents of John and Mary emigrated to America, Canada and Australia throughout the 1700, 1800 1900s'
Some of the children of John Hillhouse and Mary Ann Campbell McKindlay moved to Glasgow and the surrounding area prior to emigrating.
John and Mary had 5 daughters Mary 03.09.1796, Agnes 17.01.1799, Grizzel
08/10/1804, Sarah 08/10/1804, Janet 28.061807; and 4 sons
John 09/7/1801, William 1810, Ivie 08/11/1812, Robert 1818
Ivie m. Mary Stevenson1836 Their two surviving sons were John 29.7.1838 and Ivie 1853.
Their youngest son Ivie m Janet King Kelly 1873. They and their childrencontinued to live in Ayrshire until at least 1891.
John and his wife Jane Hutcheson m1865 moved to Hamilton Lanarkshire they and their children moved to Glasgow and the Cadder area.
One of their sons namely Robert who incidentally is our Grandfather m. Jane Graham 1/12/1865; and he and his wife and children moved from Cadder to the Springburn and later the Possilpark area of Glasgow.
One of his sons who emigrated to Australia prior to 1914 served in the Australian army during the First War.
His youngest son Ivie or Ivor emigrated to Australia in 1949
