James E. Hillhouse, 66, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at his Stillwater residence.
Visitation at Colonel Chapel Funeral Home will be Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Graveside services, with Rev. Gene Herndon presiding, will be Saturday at 10:30
a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery, northeast of Perkins. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is directing the arrangements. He was born in Perkins Feb. 7, 1936, to James P. and Lydia (Etheridge) Hillhouse.
When he was a child, he lived on the farm his grandfather homesteaded in the land run of 1889. The two story house was later moved to Taylorsville.
He graduated from Perkins High School and lived his entire life in the Stillwater and Perkins area.
He began employment with H.E.W. Recycling in 1992 and worked there until he retired in 2001.
He greatly enjoyed feeding and watching birds, visiting with his friends; recycling and listening to country and western music.
His most recent loves in life were directed toward the staff at Judith Karman Hospice and volunteers, Jo and Rod Martindale.
He was predeceased by his parents and grandparents.
Survivors include one sister.
