I am researching the Hillhouse family to find the history of James Hillhouse, wife Mary Dickey, father of John who was the father of Josiah Minter Hillhouse, 1805. I need a family tree so I can prove that James was in the Revolutionary war. I am doing a family search for my DAR presentation. I am connected to the Hillhouse family thru Josiah's daughter Sarah Hillhouse Ivey. Sarah's daughter was Hariott Ivey. She married my gr grandfather Bruce (Lafayette)Hutton. Harriot died while in childbirth or soon thereafter giving birth to their only child, Joseph E. Hutton. (My Grandfather). Since you offered to look up answers in the Hillhouse book, I would greatly appreciate your help. James is called a Patriot by the DAR if he fought in the war, or was a tax payer, or donated money, etc to the war effort. Can you help me.
Thanks, Jewell Hutton Inserra.
