Hillhouse Family History by Pat Motes of 538 In the message I posted yesterday I wrote there was no documentation James Hillhouse served in the Revolutionary War. That was incorrect. Page 447 of The Carolina Roster lists James Hillhouse as a wagoner in the New Acquisition Militia. This James was on the Charleston Expedition from 27 Mar to 26 May 1778. What I should have written was there were several James Hillhouses this could apply to. I have never been able to prove the James in the militia is the same James who married Mary Dickey.
