I did find something on the Taylors. Clara was born in Illinois. Her father's name is a little confusing. My Hillhouse records show him as F.A. Taylor, the 1880 census shows him as S.A., living in Hillerman Illinois, birth 1853 in Illinois, occupation Physician. The 1900 census has his name as Phelis A., birth 1855, and 1910 name is Phelix. He is in Missouri in both these census listings and occupation is farmer. His parents are always listed as from born in Illinois.
His wive is listed as Alice or Alice M. in all the listings. She is always born in Kentucky, in 1857, with her mother being born in Pennsylvania and father in Indiana.
A wedding license was issued in Illinois, with date of Dec.12, 1878. His name is Felix Allen (probably his real name - census records have lots of misinterpretations of spellins)Wife is listed as Alice Medora Richie. Marriage occured in Massac Co. where hillerman is located.
1900 census shows following children:
Clara B, b.Nov. 1879 in Illinois
Clarence L, Mar 1881 in Illinois
Charles A. Nov, 1896 in Illinois
Bessie M May 1893, in Missouri
Alli Oct 1895, in Missouri

That is a lot - should help you get some more info.
