Maurice Hinchee was born in Ireland in 1768 and died in 1840 in Russellville, Logan Co., Ky; married Polly Stalcup in Olster Co., Ireland and moved to Cecil Co., Maryland in 1790; to Augusta Co., Virginia in 1800; to Rockingham Co., Virginia at Ft. Republic; then to Logan Co., Ky in 1820, where he lived with his son Jacob T. Hinchee in Russellville, Ky. His second wife was Polly Clark, a full-blooded Cherokee. Polly was a nickname for Mary Jonas or Mary Anne.

Jacob B. Hinchee was born 1/1/1825 in Logan Co., Ky and owned a large farm near Owensboro, Ky.Jacob married Mary Jane Lee or Mary L. Lee in Dec. 1851. They moved to Bentonville, Arkansas, then to Clarksville, Arkansas where they lived and are buried at Minnow Creek Cemetery just north of Lamar, Johnson Co., Arkansas. Their children were:

Mary Francis Hinchee married Reuben Matthews
18 Aug 1883 who were my grandmother's parents. Reuben died 18 Dec 1923 and Mary died 12 Jan 1941. They both had been married before and their spouses both died.
