Gershom Hinckley b. 1730 and Catherine Wightman also had a son named Samuel b. May 2, 1770 who married Mary Brown and moved to Cape Vincent NY and Wolfe Island, Ont. I am one of his descendants. One of Samuel's sons also went to MI - perhaps to join cousins? BUT - I have Gershom son of John, son of Samuel, son of John b. 1644 who married Bethia Lothrop with this John as the youngest son of the immigrant Samuel - NOT son of Gov. Thomas. Can you shed some light?
