WOW! That was a quick reply. I received the file you sent for descendants of Gershom (of John, Saml., John, Saml. {the immigrant}).

Do you have more information on Catherine WIGHTMAN, whose birth you have as 9 F 1736/7, d/o Daniel WIGHTMAN & Catherine WESCOTT?

RootsWeb quotes Wade C. WIGHTMAN that Daniel WIGHTMAN & Cath. had son Daniel, b. 26 Apr. 1736; Katherine, b. 9 Feb. 1739, m. Oct. 1758, Jonathan RATHBUN; Margaret, b. Aug. 1740 (et al).

Elsewhere, RootsWeb says that Catherine WIGHTMAN's birth should be 9 Feb. 1737/8, and that it was her mother who m. Oct. 1755, Jonathan RATHBONE / RATHBUN. That still leaves me puzzled. If there were births of Daniel in 1736 & Margaret in 1740, was Catherine WIGHTMAN b. 9 Feb. 1738/9? [It does seem to have been Catherine's mother who m. RATHBUN.]
