Looking for information on the British branch of the family of my husband’s maternal grandfather Herbert George Hinde, born Oct. 13, 1883 at 9 Bridge Street, District of All Saints, Northampton, England. Herbert George’s father was George Hinde a “licenced victualler” and his mother was Mary Ann Paine. He had a brother John (possibly younger). He attended Waterloo College and graduated with a letter of recommendation dated 1900 but misspelling his name as “Hines”. He was in the Merchant Marines and he worked as a butcher for London Central Meat Co. until May 1907. While working as a butcher he lived at 17 Merriot Street, Northampton. he married on April 28, 1907 Louisa Francis May Griffith, born Oct. 26, 1885 in District of St. Giles Northampton. Her father was John William Griffith, book binder, no information on her mother, possibly a brother Stanley.
Herbert George and Louisa immigrated to Canada in May 1907 and used the name "Hines". They both passed away in the 1960’s and their children also passed away in the 80’s and 90’s and we have no other information about their British family.
