My Great Grandmother was CHARLOTTE HINDLEY B:1866 in Lancashire Manchester. She married WILLIAM TURRELL b:c:1865 (possibly born in the greater London area)...the spelling of the surname TURRELL I believe did change on several branches of the male (?) line to TURRILL and passed onto there children etc. William and Charlottes marraige certificate has her father put down as 'John HINDLEY',yet on her birth certificate it is 'George HINDLEY' (anyone who has had the joy of name changes in researching there family tree will know this can get a little confusing to say the least). Adding to the problem is the fact that Charlotte was placed to what we can gather is twice in the 1881 census takings...after a little confusion her family is as follows (all Lancashire born Ardwick - Gorton areas) I would love to find out ANY information that anyone out there may be able to pass on...as I have discovered that HINDLEY as a surname is like finding a needle in a haystack...especially if they were from Manchester ;-)
*Father - George Hindley b:c1830
*Mother - Charlotte Hindley (nee: Lee) b:1841 - d:1879
*brother - William Hindley b:1865 married Annie Massey b:1863
*brother - Edward Hindley b:1869 married Alice (?)
*sister -Elizabeth Hindley b:1861
*sister - Sarah J. Hindley b:1870
*sister - Ada Hindley b:1874
Thankyou - Steve.
