I sorry but I really can't tell you any more, as my grandmother never spoke of her father, or any of her family apart from Eliza. I would imagine that if your great grandfather left a family in 1890, and my grandmother wasn't born until 1909 that it is unlikely that we are talking about the same line directly, however I only knew of one Hindley family in North London, the rest being in Lancashire. Perhaps we're talking brothers, uncles or cousins here? I'm trying to locate her birth/marriage certificate so that I can find her fathers name and occupation - when I do, I'll let you know and we may be able to build from there! It's so frustrating, isn't it, that in a matter of three generations, so much "word of mouth" information is lost!
