Hi Paul. Rather shocking to see your name. My Father, who died less than a year ago at 96, was Paul Wesley Hinsley.
The guru of our family history is Leonard Hinsley. His posts are all over this site and as well as Hinesley and Hindsley forums. To get more information on the testing for DNA go to www.genebase.com. Information on how to get a testing kit and the various upgrades on the levels of testing are found there. I suggest that for a very specific opinion as to origin you would need to do more than the first level of testing.
As Cousin Leonard has explained we are all descended from William Hindsley Yorkshire County England, who arrived in the Baltimore area around 1638 and he revealed a wonderful story of our family.
Where did your ealiest known Hinsley ancestor live?
