I am Michael Hinsley, son of Benjamin F.(1914-1991),grandson of Ben.F.Hinsley(1885-1917),San Felipe,Tx.I was told his father a T.O.or T.A.Hinsley,born in Mississippi. If so,he is son of J.J.Hinsley and Mary Ann Middlebrook. The problem I've run into is that John Jackson births are variously attributed to Georgia in the 1820's,Chickasau,Miss.1829,and Belleville,Austin County,Texas,1838.Whew! There are at least two streams of Hinsleys coming into Texas,1830's to 1850's. One from Tennesee, the other from Miss.,plus an errant one or two from Kentucky and..? Plus Marriage certificate for J>J. and M.A.M.in 1860,in Tx. When they clearly had started a decade earlier.Plus birth cert for Mary Ann in Belleville,Tx. in 1842."Familysearch Online"is great for raw material, but it still does not entirely tally. Wait till you get to J.J.'s possible father,John, and the equally prolific,Mary Huff! I certainly could use a clearer head than mine to order this material,(as engrosing as it may be).
