HIRSCH:Saul bca1860; Heinrich bca1850;J.A. bca1830
Living in the Simon Meyer household, Marinette, WI, probably for at least 20 years—he was with them on the 1880 and 1900 US censuses--was a “relative,” Saul Hirsch.Maybe he was always single, or at least it seems he was on both of the censuses.Apparently Saul Hirsch was born about May 1860 in Germany. His father was born in Germany and his mother in Pennsylvania, according to the 1880 census. In the 1900 census, he was listed with an occupation as a horse trader. It’s possible Saul Hirsch may have been somehow related to a Heinrich Hirsch, born about 1850 and a J.A. Hirsch, an unmarried female (in 1866) who was born about 1836, both presumably born in Germany.Does anyone have research involving anyone sounding like Saul Hirsch, Heinrich Hirsch, or J.A. Hirsch?I would particularly like to learn how Saul Hirsch was related to Simon Meyer or to Simon’s wife Fannie (last name unknown… could it have been Hirsch??), and from what town this Hirsch family originated in Germany.
