I've been looking for death record of Martha Hoag Fitch Stainton. She was my Grgrandfather Peter Hoag's sister. She was born 1824 in NY. In a newspaper obit dtd 1903 abt Peter it said "his only sister Mrs Stanton of Mattewan Mi was unable to attend funeral as she was too feeble" I think maybe IP Hoag might have been a brother too and since there was no death record in VanBuren County that maybe she had gone to her brother's home. Is Hillsdale County close to Mattewan, do you know? M.E.
