Cardinal W. Hoag - 1790 Census Bennington, VT

I am curious if anyone has some detailed information on Cardinal W. Hoag, who was born about 1772. He shows up in the 1790 census for Bennington, Vermont. Cardinal was one of the children of Peter Hoag and Judith Nichols Hoag.

From what I have seen, Cardinal Hoag married Phebe Thompson and had two daughters. My interest would be in either of his two daughters, Sofia and Fanny (Frances?) Hoag. I believe I may be descended through Fanny Hoag, who was born Aug. 12, 1791 (Vermont most likely) and lived till 1879 according to the Familysearch.org website. I don't know who she married, but my ancestor's name is Sophia (maiden name unknown, but possible daughter of Frances Hoag), and her married name was Chase. She made a land transaction with the below mentioned Arnold Hoag, and one of Sophia's sons, Franklin Chase ventured out to the also below mentioned Branch Co. Michigan, and is working on a farm with what probably is a Hoag cousin (according to the 1860 census).

Cardinal Hoag and his family eventually moved to NY State at some point in the very early 19th century. They are cousins to a Hoag family that moved to the Buffalo, NY area before departing for Branch County, Michigan. Among those was Arnold Hoag and either siblings or cousins of his. Arnold had two sons, Eugene and Thompson, and they are mentioned elsewhere on this messageboard.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Tom
