William Lee ‘Billy-Boy’ Hoag Obit
FROSTPROOF, Fla. — William Lee “Billy-Boy” Hoag, 73, of Frostproof, Fla., passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at his daughter’s residence.
Born April 1, 1934, in Adrian, Mich., he moved to Florida in 1980 from Adrian. He was a retired electrician. He served in the National Guard from 1951 until 1954 in Adrian. He was an avid golfer, loved shooting pool, camping, playing cards, watching his grandchildren play sports and singing at church.
William was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Sondra; son, David Hoag, daughter, Cynitha Hoag; parents, Clarence and Ruth Hoag; sisters, Marjorie and Shirley; and brothers, Larry and David. Survivors include his son, Robert and Patty Hoag of Brooklyn, Mich.; daughters, Debra Morin of Clayton, Mich., Patricia and Donnie Smith of Lake Wales, Fla.; sister, Mary and Jim Lawrence Dillion of Frostproof, Fla.; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his companion for the past five years, Lela Riggins.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.marionnelsonfuneralhome.com.
