Hi. I'm not related to this family. Here is an obit for Oby from

Dr. Hoag's Funeral Tomorrow: Greene - A coroner's verdict is pending in the death of a 54 year-old chenango County verterinarian, who was found dead yesterday morning. Acting Chenengo County Coroner Dr. Erwin R. Centerwall of Greene is withholding a verdict pending completion of his investigation into the death of Dr. Oby Jared Hoag of Greene RD 2. Stagte police said he was found dead in his animal hospital at 11:30 o'clock by his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mae Babor. ... Dr. Hoad was a practicing veterinarian and operated an animal hospital. He was born Jan. 23, 1914, in Smithville Flats, the son of Lucetta and Cushing Hoag... He was graduated from the Cornell Veterinary College in 1937 and was an active alumnus. He is survived by his mother, of Hamilton; his wife, Ethel of Greene; one son, Eric Jared Hoag of Charleston, W.VA; one sister, Mrs. Clifford Eccleston of Hamilton; two brothers, Frank of Smithville Flats, and Milton of Sacremento [sic], Cal., one aunt, Mrs. Mina Smith of Binghamton, one nephew and one niece, and several cousins. ~ Binghamton NY Press - Thurs, Feb 29, 1968.

Another article describes Oby's marriage to Ethel Mae Barbor on Sat, Sep 14, 1940 at Elmhurst Baptist Church in depth, along with a photo of the bride. Ethel was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph A. Barbor of Elmhurst. They both attended Cornell University.

Hope this helps. Annie
