Byron Hoag b. 1833 who married Eliza Horton was the son of John W. Hoag 1804-1895 and Sarah Adeline Woolsey 1801-1888.
Sarah's brother Alanson Woolsey was also in Lenawee County.
This branch of the Woolsey family came from Columbia County, New York and seem to have been part of a Quaker movement from New York to Lenawee County, Michigan.
