Hi Lois,
This is so amazing. James Hobbins was my grandfather's brother. My grandfather was John Joseph Hobbins. His and James' father was Michael Hobbins and their mother was Julia Guinan (I believe this is the correct spelling).

Michael was from Queens County, Ireland and Julia was from Tirrerary, Ireland.

After Michael passed away, Julia married William Darcy (Again, I believe this is the correct spelling).

Michael & Julia had 4 children---Margaret born 3/31/1879, James born 4/23/1880---John born 2/11/1882---Mary born 7/6/1884. These were the dates provided me by family.

Julia & William had 2 children---Anna and May (Mame). Anna married John McPhillips and I just met John McPhillips III.

Please e-mail me at I have been working on the Hobbins family tree for a couple years and I now have seven generations just from my grandfather, John.

This is really exciting to me. I have been trying to find out about James and Margaret's family. Mary Hobbins passed away on 7/14/1885. She was only a year old.
