Hi Hobbins' all around the world. I am James Benjamin Hobbins in Madison, Wisconsin, b.Feb 29th, 1960 (11 years old now!) in Madison, WI at Madison General Hospital.

Try to pick up and read this book "350 Years American", (C) in the 1950s by Jackson. You all will find this historic book very fascinating and you will all be proud as details range back now almost 400 years on family ties in the New World to famous happenings, the American Revolution, and so on. This book is written by one of the Jackson/Hobbins clan, a families that cross married on several occassions over many years (no, not related in style to the movie "Deliverance"!).
Major General Michael Jackson (not related to the pop star!), later promoted to General M Jackson, led the Continental Army's Boston Regiment under General Washington's Federal Command...read the accounts, the letters and excerpts of letters such as when Benedict Arnold sat with, saw a smoke signal signaling his awaiting boat, and fled back to England while at tea with General Jackson at a the Fort; about family lands given to establish and found Harvard; Federal Supreme Court judgeships and many other interesting items of family historical value. There is a General Jackson Museum in New England somewhere.
Mary (Mears) Hobbins, a Madison Nurse, started Madison General Hospital in the very early 1900s (Now Meriter Hospital) and founded the Badger Chapter of the American Red Cross...; Doctors and nurses of Hobbins and Jackson families intermarried and the Jackson Clinic was formed, Hobbins' also married into the Quisling families (not related to the Nazi collaborator Quisling of Norway), also (WWII) Doctors and the Quisling Clinic was established...; the now Historic site, American Exchange Bank (called the Erste Deutsche Bank before WWI) existed for 135 years -bank rolling Madison's early growth and dvelopment, before being sold in the 1980s when I was a young man -and shareholder. My father, John Perham Hobbins, was born in Butte, Montana in May of 1934 and his Father, John Suhr Hobbins was born in Madison and Bank President who ran for Madison Mayor in the late 1950's, with John Walsh as his campaign manager (JW is a very famous Wisconsinite and in the Athletic Hall of Fame); he was even my boxing coach for a while a teen). The information goes on and on...My Dad's 1st cousin (and my 2nd) played Major League Baseball for the Baltimore Orioles during the late 60s, 70s and early 80s -Dave McNally, one pitcher of Baltimore's ''Magnificent 3'' of Jim Palmer, Aguillar and Dave. He hit a Grand Slam home run in the 70's to Win the World Series for the Orioles! I lived in Europe and played American Football in the Eurobowl League (NFL World League Predecessor) for the Paris Jets and Paris Castors for 4 years, playing Arena Football for the Detroit Drive, the Orlando Predators and the Albany Firebirds on League European Tours during the late 80s and early 90s. I rowed for the University of Wisconsin and was an NCAA All American Swimmer in my earlier days. I finished an Executive MBA from the ESSEC in Paris, France in 2000 and moved back home after 18 years abroad with my French wife and two young bi-national children.

This is just some information to look at and get you all going...

Let me know what you think of the book!

Sincerely,

James Benjamin Hobbins
