Several years ago when I was first undertaking genealogical research on the Hoeflich family, I sent out a huge mailing to all the Hoeflichs I could find. I received about 12 replies, all from very different branches of Hoeflichs.
One of my respondants ( not related to my branch) was a John Hoeflich of Redding, California. He mentioned having a Paul Hoeflich from Samoa in his family tree.
The information John Hoeflich gave me was as follows: Johan Hoeflich had 4 sons and some daughters. The sons were: Otto (Germany), Emil, Paul (Samoa), and Albert. Albert Hoeflich married Loretta Farrell and had 3 sons named Ralph, Albert, and Marcel. Ralph Hoeflich married Dorothy Millerick. Ralph and Dorothy Hoeflich were the parents of John Hoeflich of Redding, CA.
This branch of the Hoeflichs are (I believe) from Prussia. John mentioned visiting relatives in Germany and gleaning a great deal of information, some of it from around the time of Napoleon. He seems very interested in genealogy. I'm sure he would be an informativeperson to talk to.
His branch of the family "came around the Horn to California". He spells the name Hoeflich but pronounces it something like Hurfleigh. If you are interested in his address and telephone number ctc me at
email@example.com I tried to email you at firstname.lastname@example.org but the email was bounced back as undeliverable. Terryl
