My mother is Marie Louise Hoeflich Hardman, eldest of twin daughters, born in Suva, Fiji, on 13 September 1951. Her father was Paul Leonard Hoeflich, born in Suva, Fiji, on 2 January 1922, only son of Emil Hoeflich and Harriet Lobendahn. They also had two daughters, Elaine Patricia and Marie Louise, who live in San Francisco. My great grandfather was one of Paul Leonard Hoeflich's sons. The others were Otto, Max and Albert, and sister Ella. I believe my great great grandfather Paul Leonard Hoeflich came to W. Samoa from Prussia as a teenager and settled there. He married a daughter of a chief of Savaii. He had a soft drink factory and was a neighbour of author Robert Louis Stevenson. My great grandfather and his brother Albert moved to Fiji, and I believe their sister Ella went to the US. My grandfather Paul, was a marine engineer and worked on a merchant ship during WW2. He met my grandmother, Simone Helene Vahinehau Teriitehau, in Papeete, Tahiti. They married in Suva, Fiji, and had five daughters (Elaine, Michele, twins Marie and Ella, and Harriet) and a son Emil. My mother's family migrated to Sydney, Australia. My grandfather died about 17 yrs ago. My mother married Albert John Westley Hardman, and had two daughters Simone and Yvette, and a son (me).
