John:
I'll look at some local records for you sometime in the next month, but I thought I'd offer a couple of clarifications.Rev John Moore was the independent minister who settled with the founders of Newtown, Queens Co., Long Island,in the 1650's where he died soon after.More than a generation later multiple family groups of 15 to 20 of the Newtown families came to Old Hunterdon County in Maidenhead (Lawrence), Trenton (Ewing), and Hopewell Townships.Among them was Nathaniel Moore adjacent to the village of Pennington, Thomas Moore in Maidenhead, whose children grew up in Hopewell, and several lines descending from Joseph Moore.
Ely Moore was a grandson of Nathaniel, whose son Joseph Moore married Christian Green, daughter of Mary Ely.Most of the Hoff farms were just on the west side of Pennington.
