Antionette,

My grandmother was Mary Heneritta "Etta" Hogan. She was born in 1902 in Alabama (probably around Deatsville). She married Frank Oliver Higgins. He was born 1900 in Deatsville, Alabama. They are both deceased. They lived their whole lives in Alabama.

My grandmother Hogan is shown in the 1910 census in Alabama under Daniel Hogan. Her name appears to written as "Maretta". She wanted to be called "Mary Etta" and I think she even had it changed legally.

I am trying to find anything about Daniel Hogan(born 3-23-1873 in Spigener, Al)and his family line. I know his father was John Hogan (born 4-11-1844 died 1933). I believe John's father was Daniel Hogan (born 1804 in SC and died 1870 in Al). That is as far as I have information. I know at least the first names of spouses and I have the names of a few siblings. I also have the names of some burial places.

I am just getting started on this family line. I struck pay dirt when I explored John Hogan's wife Sidney Spigener. I found a person by luck on a message board like this. We exchanged information and he had details back to 1753 on that family and when they came to America.

I would appreciate any information on what you have done and perhaps we may find a relative in common back a generation or two.

Thanks,
Linda
