I saw your posting and decided to write. I am not sure how close the connection might be to my family if at all.
I think I had a relative Daniel Hogan born 1804 in SC and died 1870 in Al. His son was John Hogan born 1844 in Al and died 1933 in Alabama. John's son was my great grandfather and his name was Daniel. Daniel was born 3-23-1873 in Al and died in Al 11-14-1963. These Hogans lived just north of Montgomery in Elmore or Autauga counties.
Do you think there is any connection to William Elijah Hogan who came to Alabama?
