I'm searching for information on my gg grandfather whose name was Robert Hogan born around 1817 somewhere in Tennessee according to census records from Kentucky. His father was born in Tennessee and his mother was born in North Carolina. Their names are unknown to me. Robert's wife was Malinda ( last name also unknown ) and she was born around 1816 in Illinois. They had a daughter named Sirissa who married Bailey Shofner who is my great-grandmother. They also had another daughter named Malinda who married a man by the name of French and they had a son I think whose name if I'm not mistaken was Charles. Supposedly as the family story Robert was Cherokee Indian and my gg grandmother met him one day while she was collecting water from a nearby stream. But anyway I'm at a dead end so far trying to find out additional information not knowing what Robert's father or mother's names were or even Malinda's last name. I've not been able to locate any death records either and I haven't been able to find anything on the Indian Rolls as well. As for Malinda for some reason though the name Malinda Cook keeps popping into my head and I don't know why. If anyone has come across any information pertaining to this Robert Hogan, if you could please notify me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
