Erastus L. Hogue was brought before the Judge, and sentence of death was asked for in his case by the Attorney General. The Judge asked him what he had to say, when he replied that he had been unjustly convicted--that if he had had one hundred dollars he would not have been convicted,--and he concluded by saying. "give me liberty, or give me death." His whole manner was defiant and unsubdued. The Judge then proceed to pass sentence upon him, which as done in the most impressive and affecting manner. He was ordered to be executed on Friday the 28th of this month.
