Pat,
My grandmother was Amelia Hohmann, born July 17, 1894 in St. Louis County Missouri. She was the daughter of John Bernhardt and Elizabeth Denise "Barfelt" Hohmann. she was the first of eight girls two of her sisters was refered to as Bertha and little Elizabeth. John Bernhardt Hohmann was said to be a butcher who immigrated from Germany. Elizabeth his wife died and John remarried I do not have any information on his second wife.
My grandmother Amelia called Millie married Martin Bachert who arrived in the U.S. May 1, 1909 with his sister Suzy from Zemun, across the river from Belgrade where the Sava River meets the Danube in Croatia. They resided on Shortridge avenue in Rockhill, St. Louis County. They had three children Martin, John and Marie Elizabeth (my mother). Do you have any information on ties to this family? Please let me know.
