My cousin and I saw your message and think there might be a connection between you and us.
Our relatives came from Gort, Co. Galway, Ireland and are also Hollands, specifically, a Bridget Holland. Our Bridget married James Concannon.James died sometime after 1 April 1913, because Michael listed him as NOK on his immigration to the USA in May 1913.He listed James as living in Gorteenboy, Gort, Galway, Ireland. James and Bridget had Mary (1880-1955), Catherine (1885-1949), Agnes (1884-1974), John (1882-1958), James (1894-1969), Michael (1889-1982), Nora (1903-), Martin, Thomas, Elizabeth and Patrick.Mary, Catherine, John, Michael and James immigrated to the USA, at various times, through the ports of Boston and NY. Nora lived in the old homestead in Gort until sometime in the 1960's when she died.
We do not have information on: Elizabeth, Patrick, Martin or Thomas. We did find immigration information, which might or might not be our Martin. I am including it here.
Arrived on the SS Columbia from Londonderry.Ship
left on 3 April 1909 and arrived 12 April 1909.He
states he is a 44yr old laborer from Galway in transit
to Celaya, Mexico. His NOK is brother Thomas
Concannon, Clonar, Co Monaghan. He states he was in
the US before (8yrs - don't know if that was for 8yr
or was 8yrs ago) in San Francisco,CA.Lists"no
friends".Is described as 5ft 10in, fair complexion,
brown hair, grey eyes.
We are looking for any information you can give us on Bridget Holland Concannon (parents, siblings, etc).
We are also interested in locating the homestead in Gort.
Please feel free to contact me at my email([email protected]), as we are anxiously awaiting your reply.
Regards,
Linda and Cathy
