Hollands of Benton, Henry and Vernon Cos., Missouri and Various Texas Cos.
Thanks to this forum and a trip to Missouri a few years ago, I was able to finally find my grandmother Lucy C. Holland Box's lineage. Her father was Nedham (Needham) Holland (TN) and Matilda Blankenship of Allen Co., KY.The family as I have been able to determine is as follows:
Nedham & Matilda:
Sarah J. (1836, TN)
Martha (1838, IN)
Mary E. (1840, TN)md. James Higdon and Phillip Ritchie
Lucy C. (1843, Benton Co., MO)2nd Great Grandmother md. Rev. Jas. Bradley Box
Wesley (1845, Benton Co., MO) Confederate Soldier; md. Georgiana Renfro
Levica (1847, Benton Co., MO); may have married John Ficken in Benton Co, MO
Helen E. (1853, MO)Enumerated on 1870 Dallas, TX Census
James R. (1857, MO)Enumerated on 1870 Dallas TX, and 1900, 1910, & 1920 Johnson Co., TX censi; he married Ermine.
Nedham & Martha (2nd Wife)(1837, Ark)
Rosa B.(1860, Vernon Co., MO)
Sterling P. (1861 Vernon Co., MO)md. Winnie Jane May Enumerated in 1900 Eastland & 1910 Scurry Cos., TX Censi
Laura B. (1863, Vernon Co., MO)
John B. (Oct 1863, Vernon Co., MO) md. Alexanna; enumerated in Hill Co. 1880; Johnson Co. 1900; Hill Co. 1920 & 1930
Lavona G. (1868, Vernon Co., MO)
Charles (1871, TX)
Nedham & Martha's family members were enumerated on 1870 census in Vernon Co., MO and later in Dallas Co., TX in the month of August, 1870.But Nedham's name was enumerated as Newton in TX.On the 1880 Hill Co., TX census, Nedham was widowed and his name was spelled Nedon.
