Joseph Q. and Joel Holleman

I have recently followed up information on a couple of graves which were under ivy on my property... the headstones indicate that two brothers: Joseph Q. Holleman (22) and Joel Holleman (28) are buried there. They were assigned to the NC 26th Regiment, Company D, and died Feb, 1862 and Jan, 1862, respectively, perhaps at the battle of New Bern.

Their parents were Wyatt J and Martha (Patsy) Holleman, with other siblings being Lucy, Mary, Sarah, Sidney and Silas. Wyatt moved to North Carolina from Virginia prior to 1840, married Martha, who was 8 years older, and all children were born in Wake County, NC.

Any further info regarding this family, which later changed the name spelling to Holloman, would be appreciated.

Kenn
