Jacob & Flora McKinney & Elender Crisp

This work is based on using information on this Genforum and a few documents, and looking at what makes sense and what is inconsistent. My problem was that people would throw out "Jacob" or "Isaac", and I'm thinking, "What Jacob? What Isaac?" Whatever we can unravel should help us all. The greatest respect goes to those who have documented findings, of course.

There are several Jacobs, and different families to attach to them. If we start with William, b ~ 1745, his son, Jacob (1), b ~ 1775 is shown in one source as married to Flora McKinney, Elizabeth Stone & Nancy Leake/Leach.

Jacob(1)'s brother, William Austin, b. 1777, had a son named Jacob(2).

One version shows this Jacob(2)'s birth as March 20, 1789, but his father would have only been 12 years old! Some researchers have the date as 1798. He is shown as being the husband of Flora McKinney, b. March 20, 1824. Notice the huge gap in their ages. Their children were Wade, b. Oct 1850, Franklin Pierce, Sept. 1852, Samuel W., Columbus "Mills", Stephen Daniel, Harriett "Hattie".

Ken Parker, who has done a lot of work on Hollifields, has Jacob's birth as April 1816, and died ~ 1901. His wife is shown as Elender Crisp. Their children were Alfred, b. ~ 1841, Nancy Emeline, b. ~ 1844, William Micajah, B. ~1846, Mary E., b. Dec. 1849, Jerry Webb, b. Dec. 15, 1853, and Columbus, b. ~1859. Tim Hollifield, posting #320, has a similar list, but is also looking to confirm the parents of Jacob.

Ken pointed out that "William Hollifield III wrote in the Journal of North Carolina Genealogy, Summer 1966, that Jacob Hollifield was one of several "unconnected Hollifields" he had found in western North Carolina who were apparent sons or grandsons of William Holyfield, b. ~ 1745."

Main questions: When was Jacob, son of William born?
Who did he marry?
And, after we know that, which Jacob did the other woman marry?

Those of you who know, will earn the eternal gratitude from those of us who do not. Thanks.
