Valentine (3) married Henry Nolan??????? Is that a typo?

The RW Pension application of Susannah Holyfield lists all of the issue of Valentine and Susannah and she also included the year of their births. Plus it states that Jemina married a Kyle and Elizabeth married a James Reid. Three of the issue: Mary, Valentine and Daniel were dead at the time the application was submitted. It is an invaluable documentation for Valentine and Susannah. Valentine and Susannah were married in 1774 in Wake Co. NC. You have a typo. Their first child was born in 1776.

Since my Padgetts left Surry Co. NC BEFORE the Hollifields arrived, I doubt that the two families knew each other. The traditional story is that the Padgetts came directly from Essex Co. VA to Rowan Co. NC. We don't seem to connect with the Hollifields until John Padgett and his brothers moved to Chester Co. SC ca 1782. It is a mystery how they never met in Surry Co. or seemed to know each other. They lived there, but NOT at the same time it appears.

When exactly did the Hollifields arrive in the Chester Co. SC area? Did they all come directly from Wake Co. NC?
