Hi Eleanor,

I had written "Henny," but I've also seen her name as "Hanna." And thanks for the correction: Valentine and Susannah were married in 1774; it was a typo.

The Valentine who married Hanna Noland was in Rowan Co. in 1783. I don't know when the Padgetts left, but take your word that it was before that.

I had heard that the Padgetts and Hollifields moved together from Surry Co. NC to Chester Co. SC to Rutherford Co. NC. But sometimes these assumptions don't pan out when we put the documentation together.

I can't answer how the Hollifields arrived in Chester Co., nor do I know if they came from Wake Co. We are trying very hard to get more information on that period of time. There were Hollifields in Prince William Co., VA, and more in Maryland and New England. I think the Prince William Hollifields are part of this family and might have come south.

If anyone knows more about any Hollifield in this 1750-1800 period, I hope they will share. Every nugget helps.
