Hi Judy
I take it that you do not live in England!
Chearsley is a small village in Buckinghamshire (the next county to Oxfordshire). It is between the villages of Long Crendon and Cuddington both of which figure largely in my familty tree insofar as I have traced it. The whole area was rich in Hollimans going back some hundreds of years. Indeed Cuddington, where your Thomas came from, gave rise to a John Holliman who was born in the 1500s and became the first Bishop of Bristol.
Re the 1851 Census for Chearsley:
Thomasaged 51Agricultural labourerfrom Cuddington
Marthaaged 50Lacemakerfrom Piddington
Thomasaged 14Agricultural Labourerfrom Cuddington
I have had a quick lookthrough my records and cannot find any details of Thomas' birth or death - this may be due to the incompleteness of my records or the fact that they moved away from the district.
Of there is any other information which you would like and I can help you on please let me know.
Regards
Lindsay
