REYNOLDS, VERNESS HELEN_On December 6, 2005, Verness Reynolds (nee Hollinger) of Melville passed away at St Paul Lutheran Home in Melville at the age of 90. Verness will be sadly missed by her son, Brian (Melanie) Reynolds of Victoria; her daughter, Patricia (Larry) Taylor of Edmonton; four grandchildren, Kimberly(Travis) Shumka, Kristy Reynolds, Kendra (Jonathan) Compton, Kyle (Miranda) Taylor and two great grandchildren, Jarron and Kayson Taylor. She is also survived by her brother Roy (Nancy) Hollinger, and sister in law, Shirley (Les) Hollinger. Verness was predeceased by her husband, Kirk; her sister Carroll (Morley) Lee and brother Les Hollinger. Verness was born on July 7, 1915 in Hanley Saskatchewan and lived there until 1925 when the family moved to Moose Jaw. In 1935, she attended the Moose Jaw Normal School where she met her future husband, Kirk. They were married August 17, 1940 and were together for 56 years until Kirk passed away in 1997. Verness belonged to the order of the Eastern Star, formerly the Victoria Chapter of Melville and she held the offices of Worthy Matron, District Deputy of the District and Grand Representative of Saskatchewan to Florida. Verness will be remembered for her musical talent, kindness to others, cheerful smile and love of people. A funeral service will be held at First United Church, Melville on December 14, 2005 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Church Memorial Fund. Arrangments are entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
