David Hollister and Prudence Miller
I found some posting of yours in Wayne County NY when we were preparing a trip to Adrain MI in search ofDavid Hollister.
My wife is a descendant ofRuth Hollister, first daughter of David and Prudence. We have no vital
information on her, only what is published in the books, Hollister and Abbey.
David did leave the NY area with his son Chauncey, setttled in Lewannee Co, was buried in an old cemetery around 1847 in Palmyra MI.This information comes from Chauncey daughter who applied to and was accepted into the DAR around the early 1900's. Chauncey and David are on a 1845 census of the county. His(Chauncey) first wife died after 1841 and he was remarried around 1849.The death records and marriage records were recorded. If you are interested we can provide you with the exact dates. The material available also told of David's Revolutionary War
record. All of this came from our MI tripjust this week.
Our next step is to research the Cleveland, Ohio area for possible death records of Ruth Hollister Abbey.she died around 1868, so maybe archives may have some record, showing Ruth's connection to David. This last bit of informationis what is holding up an application with the DAR, David as a supplemental.
Any information on Ruth Hollister Abbey for vitals would be appreciated. We can share all information on this family.Phil
