We have about 24,000 Honakers in our database but do not have these. The white Honakers of Pike County are descended from our immigrant Hans Jacob Honaker, who landed in Philadelphia in 1749, and last lived in present-day Pulaski Co., Va. Among his descendants was the first Pike County sheriff, James Honaker. If you send your mailing address I will send you a newsletter story about James.

Some and possibly all black Honakers in Pike County are descended from slaves owned by the white Honakers.

With kind regards and good hunting. Your cousin, Tom Hanlin, Honaker Family Assn., P.O. Box 3636, Alexandria VA 22302-0636, 703-751-7321.
