Hello Honaker researchers... I was just wondering if it were possible that the Honacre, Honaker and Hunsakers were connected. I ask this question because of the following document and wondered if anyone of you had seen it or researched it. "It is documented in 1728, on a list of those Mennonites in the Island Castle dungeon at Bern, were Jacob Honacre, Rudolph Honacre and Hartman Honacre. It is reported that the Swiss government which was the Rominish Church, confiscated all Mennonite land and jailed and deported all Mennonites." I only bring this to your attention because of the Jacob Honacre mentioned here. The Hartman Honacre listed, later arrived in Philadelphia in 1732, after applying for assistance from the Mennonite Relief Committee. His name was listed on the ship register as Hartman Hunsecker and when he swore his allegience in PA it was listed as Martin Huntseker. Hartman would be my 5th great grandfather and I was just curious to his possible connection to your Jacob Honaker, as there is only speculation at this point as to his parentage. Thank you in advance for taking time to read this posting... Happy Hunting... Wm Scott Hunsaker wshunsaker@aol.com Notify Administrator about this message?
