The Dolans you seek are mentioned in Honaker Family in America, 1998, Frederick (Honaker) Chapter:

(P. 48) 5. Isaac M.[2] Honicker m. 2nd, Catherine (also Katherine) M. Dolin (also Dolan) 5 Oct 1865 in Greenbrier (also reported as Monroe) Co., W.Va. She was born in Monroe Co. (West) Virginia 1825 (also reported as Mar 1825), the daughter of Matthew Alexander Dolin and Elizabeth Jane Vance (also Wantz). She died ca. 1910 in Greenbrier Co., W.Va. She was previously married to Henry Bland Toothman and was widowed.
Isaac had 14 children, the last of whom was Elizabeth C., b. ca. 1865, apparently the daughter of Isaac and Katherine. Elizabeth m. John A. Dolan 23 Nov 1880.

Our note: Spelling in those days was often according to sound, as literacy was by no means uniform, so we often see first, middle and surnames spelled very differently. We don't know when Matthew was born, but 1800 is plausible. No idea about his heritage.

(P. 64): 39. Elizabeth Jane [4] Bostic, b. 19 Oct 1961 in Union (West) Va., d. 5 Feb 1936 in Ronceverte, W.Va., buried Riverview Cem., Ronceverte. M. Lewis Newton Dolan, son of Hugh Caperton Dolan and Mary Ann Lemmon, 23 Dec 1879 in Monroe Co., W.Va. He was born 29 Oct 1855 in Ronceverte, d. 27 Nov 1941 in Frankford, Greenbrier Co., W.Va., buried Riverview Cemetery, Ronceverte. We list 13 children, only one of whom, James Elliot, was reported to us as having descendants.

We have Andrew Caperton as the fourth child, b. 31 Aug 1886 in Ronceverte, declared MIA in WWI but the family was later notified that he had died 16 Oct 1915.

The information you have differs from this account, and we would appreciate any additional help you can provide about him and his descendants. If you can bring us up to date to yourself, we would be very grateful and will add you to the book's supplement. The book was 1,437 pp., and the supplement on CD-ROM is now 1,100 pages since the book was published in 1998.

If you would like a copy of our quarterly family newsletter, send your mailing address.

Kind regards, Tom Hanlin, volunteer, Honaker Family Assn., Inc., P.O. Box 3636, Alexandria VA 22302, 703-751-7321. Like you, I am a Frederick descendant.
