Anna, we have a listing of more than 22,000 descendants of the immigrant, Hans Jacob Honaker, who landed at Philadelphia from Switzerland in 1749. He last lived in Pulaski, Va., and a concentration of his family, particularly of his son Martin, continues to live in Southwest Virginia. We have to date not been able to identify Nannie Bell Honaker. If you ever are able to, we would appreciate knowing so that her line could be added to known lines. See Honaker Family in America, Frieda Patrick Davison, ed., 1998, 1,437 pages, in the Russell Co., Va., library. Your cousin, Tom Hanlin, Honaker Family Assn. volunteer.

The following obit appeared in 1990, our first information that Nannie Bell existed. We have placed it in the Unknown Chapter, book supplement:

[Grundy] Virginia Mountaineer, 6 Dec 1990: Geneva Bernice Wilson Estep, 44, of Grundy, died Sunday in a Richlands hospital. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Edward and Nannie Bell Honaker Wilson. She was a member of Trinity Free Pentecostal Holiness Church in Raven. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Survivors: husband, James Wayne Estep; daughter, Regina Estep of the home; son, James David Estep of Grundy; sisters, Elizabeth Coleman and Barbara Yates, both of Grundy, Irene Rash of Pulaski, Lois Coleman and Hazel Boyd, both of Vansant, Patsy Collins of Knoxville, Tenn., and Bobbie Fuller of Winston-Salem, N.C.; brothers, Carson E. Wilson of Salem and Harvey Elbert Wilson of Dublin. Funeral services were Wednesday at Trinity Free Pentecostal Holiness Church in Raven with the Revs. T.R. Stump, Jim Clark and David Estep officiating. Burial followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill. Nephews served as pallbearers. Buchanan County Funeral Home, Keen Mountain, was in charge of arrangements.
