FUNERAL AT MAHL THURSDAY...
Mrs. T.H. Honea Dies From Heart Attack Tuesday Night
After a day spent canning, Mrs. T.H. Honea, 72, of Mahl suffered a heart attack and died at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday night at her home.
Mrs. Honea went about her regular duties as usual Tuesday and also took care of the special tasks of canning. After dark, she complained of having "indigestion," and with little more discomfort than that of indigestion she died at 10:30 o'clock.
Born in Wood County Jan. 18, 1884, Mrs. Honea was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Price. She had lived in Nacogdoches County since 1907, and on Jan. 13, 1923, she and Mr. Honea, who is a Baptist minister widely known in the county, were married.
Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mahl Baptist Church with interment in the Mahl Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Roy Alford of Garland, the Rev. Tom Mitchell of Paint Rock, the Rev. Dewey Morgan of Dallas, and the Rev. George Nelson of Nacogdoches, all Baptist ministers.
Vernis Fulmer, well-known Nacogdoches song leader, will be in charge of all music arrangements.
Survivors are her husband, the Rev. T.H. Honea of Mahl; four daughters, Mrs. Esther Matthews of Dallas, Mrs. Harry Bryson of Winnie, Mrs. Mable Singleton of Baytown, and Mrs. Lula Clifton of Newton; six sons, R.V. Honea of Livingston, Luke Honea of Winnie, John Honea of Port Arthur, and W.C. Graham, Ruey Honea, and Thomas Honea, all of Nacogdoches; twenty-one grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be ministers from the East Texas area.
Services will be under the direction of Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home and Cason Monk and Co.
