Connie,
I sure there's is a connection. Simon Hooks b. 1812 married Penelope Aycock b.1813. One of the daughters was my gggm Mary Hooks b. 1837 married gggf Elias Aycock b. 1834. They had two sons, one of which was ggf William Chester Aycock. Mary died in 1859. Elias them married Druzilla Hooks b. 1860. They were married in 1860 and had 8 more children. It's hard to be from that area and not be kin. My Aycocks moved to GA. Last year we found a distant cousin by the name of Charles Aycock. He tied it all together for us and invited the Ga Aycocks to a family reuion of the Timothy Aycock line, that had been on going for close to 70 years. Also he organize a quick reuion of the Elias line while we were in town, about 40 people showed for ours even with just a few days notice. We are now starting a reuion for our line. One year in NC the next in GA. It' amazing how much people look alike and have many of the same mannerisms after all these years. Charles is a good man to know, he has a head full of Aycocks. Check his posting on the Aycock's page. Gerry Hill is very up on the Hooks. I'm sure they can help you out. Nice to hear from you,and good hunting.
