Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I got my letter written late to my aunt, and she took a little while to reply, and then I've been sick with a bad cold lately, and haven't felt like doing much of anything. Am feeling much better now... At any rate, please excuse my delay in replying --

Here is what I've learned from my aunt: John Hooson was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, England. My aunt doesn't know whereit was that he was a florist. I do not know who he married. But John had two children that we know of: Maria Matilda Hooson, born 11 January 1842 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England, and Cyrus/Sirus Hooson, birthdate and place unknown. Maria Hooson married Charles D. Briggs on 17 August 1862 in Rosendale, Fondulac Co, WI. She died 21 Feb. 1914 in Swiss Twp., Burnett Co., WI.

John Hooson came to Milwaukee, Wisconsin from England, in or around 1850; and died in Ripon, WI in 1877.

Wish I knew more, but this is all I know about my Hooson's. I guess our Hooson's don't appear to be connected as yet? But one never knows. Would you know of any Hoosons that were from the Bradford area?
